Fashion Intern

At StyleShuffler, we're working to create the richest catalog of clothes and fashion items anywhere on the internet. To do this, we need 10-15 highly motivated fashion students to apply their industry knowledge and help us "tag", or label the tens of thousands of garments that will appear in StyleShuffler's suggestion tool. Once our products are tagged, we'll look to you to work with our fashion experts to put together hundreds (or thousands) of outfits and combinations that will drive our personalized suggestions. This part time position will allow you immerse yourself in the world of online shopping and fashion and help build the framework for a totally new way to shop on-line.

Description of job:

• Apply pre-defined tags (or categories) to garments from various online retailers
• Work with our fashion expert to build clothing suggestions

Requirements:

• Currently enrolled in or graduate of an undergrad or graduate fashion program
• Can devote 30-40 hours total between now and November 11

Compensation:

• This is an unpaid internship, but...
• There will be an incentive program to reward the fashion interns with the highest quality tags, including a $500 on-line shopping gift card

The idea for StyleShuffler.com grew from a simple question - can the concept behind Pandora be applied to your style? Pandora’s music genome project uses multiple attributes to define songs and a complex mathematical algorithm to group them, in order to better recommend music to the listener. StyleShuffler.com uses a similar approach, but is aimed at the online shopper.
